Economic Development Squamish hosted Ignite Your Hiring, a free event focused on supporting the local business community in their hiring and retention practices. The event, premised on a Hiring & Retention Guide published earlier in the fall, featured an overview of the current employment landscape as well as a local employer panel, where select employers shared their hiring and retention insights, and best practices, with more than 60 local business owners in attendance. Attendees also had the opportunity to attend a speed-dating session with eight academia, government and not-for-profit partner organizations who shared recruitment opportunities, available programs, resources and more.
