With matching funding support from Global Affairs ICCI program, the COEDC developed and broadly distributed the 2018 Central Okanagan Economic Profile and 5 Key Sector Profiles. This project reflected the first time such resources were created for the region as a whole as well as highlighting the seven individual communities.
The Economic Profile captured the competitive advantages of the communities of the region with a site selection lens in mind, while the Sector Profiles complement it
by showcasing both high-growth and foundational industries including agriculture/viticulture, information and communications technologies, manufacturing/aerospace, healthcare and animation/film.
Further, the release included a coordinated social media campaign – Hey have you heard? The resources and campaign have supported the COEDC and its partners in articulating the region’s value proposition to drive economic growth.
The Profiles were shared with and broadly used by partners, including Federal Trade Commission Services and Provincial Trade and Investment Offices to communicate the region, its communities and its key industry sectors and enhancing capacity and ability to strategically respond and appropriately
funnel future FDI inquiries to the region.
