The (Squamish) Canadian Dream is a marketing video to position Squamish as a great place to open or relocate business by showcasing the diverse range of successful businesses across our key sectors of Forestry/Wood, Manufacturing, Tourism, Technology and Knowledge/Education. The video drives visits to squamishchamber.com where businesses can learn more about opportunities in Squamish.
There's a true connection between sectors e.g. forest roads lead to trails, which boost tourism and recreation, which inspire rech-tech and manufacturing, and ultimately nurture an attractive lifestyle. Businesses are all connected through our love of this amazing place that is Squamish. However, we observed a lack of awareness of this connection and a lack of recognition of the innovative, diverse and successful businesses in our community.
In terms of our approach, we were aware that many communities have created beautiful economic development videos. We needed to do something different to break through the cluttered market. We needed to create something that spoke to the personality of Squamish. And we needed to create content that was sharable as we didn't have marketing budget to promote.
The result was a video set to music that celebrates Squamish business. It's shareable. It's authentic. It's the Canadian Dream.
